From the airport

Bus No. 300

(Skylink) will take you all the way from the airport to the top of the Meadows Park (bus stop and the street is called Forrest Road). It will take between 45-55min.

The bus ticket costs £4.50 single ticket/ £7.5 return (you need exact change as none is given). Once you get off walk back to the top of the park and continue walking for another 10 min.

Bus No. 100

(AIRLINK airport shuttle) + Bus No. 41 (or walk). Take the bus Number 100 AIRLINK (£4.5 single ticket/ £7.50 return) and stop in the last stop in Waverley Train Station.

Tram

Walk to the tram station at the airport and take any tram leaving for the city center. Stay on the tram until you reach the Princes Street stop. This usually takes 32 minutes.

You can then go either:

On foot: You can walk up the Mound to the Royal Mile, keep heading straight over George IV Bridge and then go right at the ‘Y’ intersection, cross the road at the traffic lights and head straight down a walking only path. This will take you to the Meadows (the largest park in Edinburgh). Walk straight across the Meadows to the other side where the traffic lights are on Melville Drive. This is the bottom of Argyle Place so head straight up the street and the backpackers is on your left hand side with a white sign out the front.

By Bus: To get to Argyle Backpackers from Waverley Train Station on Princes Street, catch a number 41 bus from the The Mound Place (go up to Waverley Bridge it's the parallel street to Waverley Station and then walk up Market Street) in the ‘Craighouse’ direction. Ask the bus driver to stop at Warrender Park Road, the name of the bus stop is ‘Roseneath Street. The bus ticket costs £1.70 - you need exact change as none is given. The hostel is on Argyle Place which is just around the corner from Warrender Park Road, opposite the Argyle Pub, there is a white sign out the front.

Taxi Ride

Roughly £25 - £30. Door to door and times vary depending on traffic.

Uber: The cost is roughly about £20.

Waverley station to Argyle Backpackers

On Foot

Parking

Our hostel doesn't have private parking, however there is street parking in front of and usually there is no problem to park in the street.

The rates are:

Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM till 5:30 PM - £2.50 per hour, maximum stay 6 hours.

Weekends and the rest of the time is free to park in the street.
If you prefer a private parking to leave there your car during your stay you can do it in Edinburgh Q-Park Quartermile, it is about 5 minutes walking from the hostel, if you visit their web page you can pre-book your parking.

If you would like to park for free in the street it should be at about 15 minutes walking, from Oswald Road onwards, you can check this link to see the map:
